Prayers for all Occasions, Needs, and Intentions
CHAPLET OF HOLY VIRTUES
The chaplet, recited three times daily, can restore the virtues in the sanctity of our souls. The following message was reportedly given to Theresa at St. Thomas More parish in Denver during the recitation of the Rosary:
"My Dear One, These instructions are for the prayers to obtain the Virtues. Three times each day, I ask you to pray the Chaplet of Holy Virtues. Once upon rising, again at midday, and upon retiring. Begin with the creed, then the consecration to my Immaculate Heart, then the Angelus. You will name each virtue. Recite each decade for these virtues: Faith, Hope, Charity, Humility, Patience, Perseverance, and Obedience."
The chaplet consists of a Crucifix followed by two beads, then seven decades, consisting of one bead for each virtue and a grouping of three beads for the prayers of each virtue.
To pray this chaplet start on the crucifix and recite the Apostles' Creed. On the next bead, recite the Consecration to the Blessed Mother which is:
The Consecration to the Blessed Mother
My Queen, my Mother, I give myself entirely to Thee and to show my devotion to Thee, I consecrate to Thee this day, my eyes, my mouth, my heart, my whole being without reserve. Wherefore good Mother as I am Thine own, keep me, guard me, as Thy property and possession. Amen.
The second bead is the Angelus as follows:
The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary, and she conceived of the Holy Spirit. (Hail Mary full of grace...)
Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to Thy word. (Hail Mary full of grace...)
And the Word was made flesh. And dwelt among us. (Hail Mary full of grace...)
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray. Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His passion and cross be brought to the glory of His resurrection, through the same Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
Each of the following seven decades, the single bead is for the virtue (Faith, Hope, Charity, Humility, Patience, Perseverance, and Obedience); the grouping of three beads consist of The Lord's Prayer on bead one, The Glory Be on bead two, completed by the Prayer to the Holy Spirit on bead three. The Prayer to the Holy Spirit is:
Prayer of the Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit enlighten my heart to see the things which are of God; Come Holy Spirit, into my mind that I may know the things that are of God; Come Holy Spirit into my soul that I belong only to God; Sanctify all that I think, say and do, that all will be for the glory of God. Amen.
In a later message to Theresa, the Blessed Mother stated:
Prayers of the Chaplet:
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
The Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be to the Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
