CHAPLET OF ST. JUDE

The 40-bead Chaplet of St. Jude is green and is recited as follows:

St. Jude, glorious Apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you universally as the Patron of things despaired of; pray for me, that finally I may receive the consolations and the succor of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (mention your request), and that I may bless God with the Elect throughout Eternity. Amen.

On each bead is said a Hail Mary with the following invocation:

St. Jude, Apostle, martyr and relative at Our Lord Jesus Christ, of Mary and of Joseph, intercede for us.

The chaplet concludes with the following prayer:

O Holy St. Jude, Apostle and Martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke your special patronage in time of need, to you I have recourse from the depth of my heart and humbly beg you, to whom God has given such great power, to come to my assistance. Help me in my present and urgent petition. In return I promise to make your name known and cause you to be invoked. St. Jude pray for us and all who invoke your aid.

The 9-bead Chaplet of St. Jude is recited as follows:

O Holy St. Jude, Apostle and Martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke your special patronage in time of need. To you I have recourse from the depth of my heart and humbly request your assistance. (mention request)

Help me in my present and urgent petition. In return I promise to make your name known and cause you to be invoked.

Say three Our Fathers, three Hail Mary's and three Glory Be to the Father.

To recite the chaplet of St. Jude as a novena, it must be said for nine consecutive days. It has never been known to fail.

Prayers of the Chaplet:

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
