Prayers for all Occasions, Needs, and Intentions

The Litany for Christmas

(For private use only.)

God our Father in heaven,

R. Have mercy on us.

God the Son, our Redeemer,

R. Have mercy on us.

God the Holy Spirit,

R. Have mercy on us.

Holy Trinity, one God,

R. Have mercy on us.

Jesus, Son of the living God, splendor of the Father, eternal light, king of glory, dawn of justice, Son of the Virgin Mary,

R. Glory to you, O Lord.

Jesus, we love and worship you: wonderful counselor, mighty God, price of peace;

R. Glory to you, O Lord.

Jesus, you are powerful, patient, obedient, meek and lowly of heart; you love us and desire us to be pure in heart;

R. Glory to you, O Lord.

Jesus, God of peace, spring of life, model of holiness, friend of all, our God and our refuge,

R. Glory to you, O Lord.

Jesus, brother of the poor, treasure of the faithful, good shepherd, true light, inexhaustible wisdom, boundless love, our way and our life,

R. Glory to you, O Lord.

Jesus, joy of the angels, king of the patriarchs, master of the apostles, teacher of the evangelists, strength of the martyrs, light of the witnesses to truth, crown of all saints,

R. Glory to you, O Lord.

Jesus, look upon us, forgive us, hear us;

R. Lord, save your people.

By the mystery of your incarnation, by your lowly birth, by your childhood, by your life of service and ministry,

R. Lord, save your people.

By your agony and passion, by your cross and loneliness, by your death and burial,

R. Lord, save your people.

By your resurrection and ascension, by the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, by your joy and your glory, until you come again,

R. Lord, save your people.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.

R. Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.

R. Have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.

R. Have mercy on us.

Let us pray

Almighty God and Father of light, a child is born for us and a son is given to us. Your eternal Word leaped down from heaven in silent watches of the night and now your Church is filled with wonder at the nearness of our God.

Open the hearts to receive his life and increase our vision that our lives may be filled with the glory and peace of him who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
